CASE 1 – At-Home Teeth Whitening

This patient wished to safely brighten their tooth shade with a professional at-home whitening protocol.

We used the Philips Zoom NiteWhite 10% Teeth Whitening Kit under dental supervision, a trusted take-home whitening system based on carbamide peroxide. Custom trays were made from 1 mm EVA thermoplastic material (a biocompatible, flexible vinyl-acetate copolymer) that was vacuum-formed on a precise 3D-printed model of the patient’s dental arches. This process ensures a snug fit and even gel distribution for effective treatment. 

The whitening gel contains carbamide peroxide, which slowly decomposes into hydrogen peroxide and urea. The hydrogen peroxide releases oxygen radicals that penetrate enamel and dentin to break down stain molecules, leading to a visibly whiter smile over time. 

For this case, the patient wore the trays overnight while sleeping (minimum ~6 hours per night) as part of a personalized regimen determined at the clinical visit for 2-3 weeks for optimum results. 



As with any peroxide-based whitening, temporary tooth sensitivity or mild gum irritation can occur, usually resolving shortly after treatment completion. Regular follow-up ensures comfort and safety throughout the process.
