CASE 2

Moderate crowding – young adult

This young male patient came with a clear intention: to significantly improve his smile, while keeping a fully conservative approach and preserving his natural teeth.

The initial situation showed mild anterior crowding, relatively narrow smile proportions, and a localized posterior crossbite. While not severe, these elements created a smile that felt less open and less harmonious than the patient desired.

A treatment with Invisalign was selected to precisely control tooth movement and address all these aspects together. Step by step, the anterior teeth were aligned, the buccal corridors were expanded to create a fuller smile, and the occlusion was rebalanced.

The treatment was carried out in two phases: an initial phase of 12 months (52 aligners, changed weekly) to correct the main discrepancies, followed by a 4-month refinement phase (18 aligners) to optimize symmetry and detail.

From the diagnostic phase, minor incisal chipping and slight asymmetries were identified. Rather than overlooking them, they were integrated into the treatment plan, anticipating a final minimally invasive restorative phase to refine tooth shape and complete the aesthetic result.

As in most adult cases, orthodontics was part of a broader strategy. A professional tooth whitening treatment was added at the end to enhance brightness and bring a more vibrant appearance to the smile.

The result is a smile that is not only better aligned, but more present, more confident, and more in line with the patient’s expectations. This case illustrates how it is possible to achieve a significant aesthetic improvement while remaining fully respectful of natural tissues and biological principles.
