CASE 4
Rejuvenating the Smile
Some patients take excellent care of their teeth. They maintain good oral hygiene, floss every day, and keep their mouth healthy over time. But even with the best care, time still leaves its marks.
The teeth may remain healthy, yet small changes gradually appear: slight tooth movements, surface vertical cracks, cervical wear, irregular incisal edges, and subtle loss of volume. Individually, these signs may seem minor. Together, they can slowly reduce the harmony, freshness, and balance of the smile.
Ceramic veneers can also serve this purpose: not to change a smile, but to rejuvenate it. The goal is to recover the smile the patient once had, without exaggeration and without creating something artificial. Simply by restoring lost volumes, redefining tooth shapes, and bringing back the natural proportions that time had gradually softened.
In this case, porcelain veneers allowed us to mask cervical wear, surface fissures, minor positional changes, and irregular tooth edges in a single coherent aesthetic treatment.
The result is not a new identity, but a return to a more refreshed and harmonious version of the patient’s own smile, as if time had been turned back.
