Additive Ceramic Veneers

This young patient presented with a healthy mouth and perfectly sound teeth. The guiding principle was therefore clear from the very beginning: preserve everything.

Despite the excellent biological situation, the patient felt that his smile did not fully reflect his personality. The teeth appeared slightly narrow, with small spaces and proportions that felt too delicate for a young man with a strong and vigorous facial appearance. The objective was not to create an artificial smile, but to give the existing smile more presence, structure and character, while fully respecting the natural teeth.

A digital workflow was used to analyze the case in detail. Through a micrometric evaluation of volumes, proportions and available space, it was possible to plan six «additive» ceramic veneers : This means that, when the initial anatomy allows it, veneers can be placed without grinding the teeth ! In this case, the natural enamel was preserved, and the final volume was added only where needed.

The restorations were made in CAD/CAM lithium disilicate, providing a strong and stable structural base. The external surface was then delicately micro-stratified with aesthetic porcelain, allowing the dental technician to refine light, texture, translucency and individual character.



The result is a smile that appears stronger, fuller and more harmonious, without betraying the patient’s natural identity. Aesthetic improvement, in this case, was achieved not by removing tooth structure, but by carefully adding what was missing.
